Official MCP server connecting Figma design context to code generation and canvas editing
Figma’s official MCP server and skill guide: generate design context and code from a selected frame, read variables and components, use Code Connect, and write content directly to the Figma canvas in supported clients [12]. It turns Figma from a one-way source into a two-way workspace between the design system and code; preserving existing components and tokens gives it a greater impact than prompt-only skills.
Product and design system teams that already use Figma as their source design system.
The remote server depends on OAuth, a Figma seat, and plan limits; writing to the canvas is in beta and may become usage-based in the future. Design data passes through Figma and the agent provider.
